It is interesting to follow her growing understanding of the situation as she matures. Maisie’s awareness of the irresponsible behavior of most of the adults in her life grows as she becomes older. It’s the story of two dysfunctional, self-absorbed people who had a child together, divorced, and used the little girl to intensify their hatred of each other. The film was adapted from the novel of the same name by Henry James. I watched the critically acclaimed film What Maisie Knew, and decided I wanted to read the original story. (I’ve been reading The ADD/ADHD Checklist: A Practical Reference for Parents and Teachers during the days, trying to figure out my life!)ĭonna: I’ve been on holidays and haven’t done a whole lot of reading (for me, that is ― LOL). Still a fabulous book, I’m hoping to get back to my regular reading schedule shortly. I’m planning to start reading Wench Shau’s recommendation soon.Ĭare: This week sees me finishing up Cut & Run by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux. As much as I have enjoyed my jam-packed August, I’m looking forward to September slowing down and giving me time to read. Really compelling plot twist in the book that keeps me wanting to read more, to see how it is all going to work out.īarbara: I haven’t had a lot of time to read recently, so I’m slowly rereading Biting Bad. So, once I beat iTunes into submission, I will start that.Īngela: I’m about halfway through The Black Prism by Brent Weeks and enjoying it. I was going to start listening to the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone audiobook on my commute, but iTunes and I could not agree on the chapter order. I’ve also read a couple Supernatural fanfics this week. An amazing thing happened, too! I started back on the somewhat boring chapter where I had left off, and oh, three pages later, somebody got killed out of freaking nowhere!!! GRRM, you knock my socks off!Īnne: I am continuing my Night Huntress reread, I’m inching ever closer to meeting Vlad for the first time. A few of us have discovered some brand new reads, thanks to great recommendations or movies based on the books.Ĭlick through to see what has been occupying us this week! And don’t forget to share what you’ve been reading!Īmanda: After last week’s uncertainty about what to read next, I decided to go back to A Clash of Kings by George R. Westeros is keeping some busy, others are currently busy in Chicago with our favorite vamps, or rereading a favorite series. The Wenches have been busy with a lot of things this week, but we still managed to get some reading done! You’ll see lots of familiar titles on our reading lists today.
